This year, the Torry Island BBQ Showdown is proud to support The Arc of the Glades, a nonprofit organization in Belle Glade dedicated to empowering adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Through programs such as vocational training, supported employment, life-skills development, and community integration, The Arc helps individuals build independence and live fuller, more connected lives.
Proceeds from the Torry Island BBQ Showdown will help strengthen these programs and provide opportunities for participants to learn, work, and thrive right here in the Glades community.

This year, we’re rallying together to raise funds for a Veterans Memorial in the City of Belle Glade—a lasting tribute to the brave men and women who have served our country and defended our freedoms.
Our veterans have sacrificed so much for us. They have stood on the frontlines to protect the liberties we cherish, and now it’s our turn to honor them with a place of remembrance, respect, and gratitude right here in our community.

The Glades Historical Society was honored to receive $61,000 from the first annual Torry Island BBQ Showdown! This generous contribution will help preserve and celebrate the rich history of the Glades, ensuring that future generations can learn about our community’s heritage.
